Q: What is a Registered Apprenticeship Program?

A: A registered Apprenticeship is a formalized career training Program which offers structured on-the -job training along with related technical classroom instruction. The program allows the ability to train an apprentice in an occupation which demands a high level of skill. The Standards are industry Driven, which allows the industry as well as the program sponsor to determine the skill requirements needed to build and maintain a quality workforce.

Q: How long does the program last?

A: The apprenticeship program lasts from one to four years. During this time, apprentices work and learn under the supervision of an experienced journeyman. Throughout the program Apprentices are provided their training in a practical way through a structured and systematic program which will ultimately lead to becoming a highly skilled employee.
